Description
Webercolor Junta Fina Grafito (5kg) is a high-performance, cement-based grouting mortar designed for filling narrow joints in ceramic tiles, porcelain stoneware, glass mosaics, and natural stone. Formulated with technical aggregates, synthetic resins, and lightfast mineral pigments, it delivers a smooth, dust-resistant, and highly decorative finish. Its specialized graphite (dark charcoal grey) color is engineered to blend seamlessly with modern, dark, or wood-effect tiling, preventing the unsightly appearance of dirt over time.
Key Characteristics
- Joint Width: Specifically engineered for thin joints from 0 to 3 mm.
- Packaging: 5 kg moisture-protected bag.
- Color: Graphite (deep, matte mineral charcoal grey).
- Composition: High-strength cement, selected quartz aggregates, resins, and hydrofuge (water-repelling) additives.
- Texture: Ultrafine, non-scratch powder that yields a completely smooth paste.
- Setting Time: Accessible for light foot traffic after 24 hours. Full curing takes 14 days.
- Water Mixing Ratio: Requires approximately 1.5 to 1.7 liters of water per 5 kg bag.
Main Advantages
-
- Scratch-Free Finish: The extra-fine grain size ensures it will not scratch delicate glazes, polished porcelain, or glass tiles during application.
- Water-Repellent: Formulated with low water-absorption properties, making it highly resistant to dampness and surface mold.
- Color Consistency: Uses premium mineral pigments that resist UV degradation and do not fade under indoor lighting.
- Easy Application: Offers a long open time and excellent plasticity, allowing the installer to pack the joints tight without the material drying out too quickly.
- High Density: Prevents dirt, grease, and dust from embedding into the pore network of the grout line, facilitating easy routine cleaning.
Disadvantages and Limitations
-
- Joint Size Restrictions: Not suitable for joints wider than 3 mm; using it in wide gaps will cause shrink-cracking and crumbling.
- Structural Limitations: Lacks the high flexibility required for structural expansion joints, movement joints, or substrates subject to intense thermal shock (such as underfloor heating systems without modifying resins).
- Chemical Exposure: It is a cementitious grout, meaning it is not resistant to heavy acids, industrial chemicals, or high-pressure power washing (epoxy grout is required for those environments).
- Efflorescence Risk: If mixed with too much water or applied in high humidity, a white salt crust (efflorescence) can surface, which is highly visible against the dark graphite color.
